IN THIS TEACHING

Distilled Pratyahara – Guided Meditation is an advanced, method-driven practice that systematically walks the practitioner through the inner mechanics of Pranayama, Dharana, Dhyana, and Pratyahara, culminating in the direct stopping of the mind and entry toward Samadhi. The meditation begins with disciplined bellows breathing to generate pranic force along the full axis of the spine—from the base to the crown—activating Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna. Through the deliberate application of kumbhaka (inner retention) and rechaka (outer retention), prana is amplified exponentially, arousing Kundalini and building the energetic charge required for deeper interior maneuvers.

The teaching then refines attention through Dharana—steady, unwavering concentration on the movement of breath and prana. By capturing the descending and ascending currents without allowing the mind to flicker, the practitioner discovers a critical truth: when prana stops, the mind stops. From this concentrated state, awareness softens into Dhyana, where the observer and the observed begin to merge. Breath, prana, mind, and identity fuse into a single flow, and physical sensation dissolves into subtle vibration. Ether-like spaciousness replaces the solidity of the body as perception shifts into the subtle atomic structure of being.

The core of the practice lies in the practice of Pratyahara proper—withdrawing and switching off the senses by gathering the pranic currents of Ida and Pingala into the central channel of Sushumna. The energy changes from wave-like oscillation to a still, focused thread of awareness. Attention is then directed to the segment of Sushumna between the navel and heart, the origin point of the sensory fields. With concentrated retention and a precise “strike” of awareness into that region, emptiness surges upward, silencing the senses and blanketing the brain in profound quiet.

The final refinement occurs at the third eye, where the practitioner learns to distinguish between manas (mind) and unmanas (no-mind). By shifting attention from the flame of mind to the subtle blue-black point above it, the mind slows and stops. This stopping opens the architecture of higher consciousness at the crown, allowing the descent of atmic awareness and the merging of infinite consciousness with embodied awareness. Even a brief taste of this state permanently alters the texture of perception. Distilled Pratyahara is thus a concentrated manual of inner yoga—demonstrating how breath control, will, and subtle perception lead directly to the extinguishing of mental motion and the threshold of Samadhi.
